Spiritual Practice: Observation

Men fished from perches on the rocks, throwing their lines out into the surf.  Couples, families, and friends walked along the breakwater, taking in the smells of the salted wind.  The sound of motors and horns came from the busy street, bouncing off the cement and brick buildings.

Here, on the banks of the ancient sea, where Mark walked and Alexander ruled, a city cat basked in the same sun God had created and saw was good.
(Gen 1:16-18)

Creator God, you created this amazing physical reality in which you created us to inhabit.  Help us open our eyes to even the smallest of your creatures in the midst of wherever we might be.  Amen.

(God made the stars and two great lights: the larger light to rule over the day and the smaller light to rule over the night.  God put them in the dome of hte sky to shine on the earth to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness.  God saw how good it was. Gen 1:16-18, CEB)

About SFriant

I live to walk with others on their journeys - because everyone needs to know that they are loved, that they matter, and that they are doing amazing things. I'm a lot like our two kids: obsessed with learning, and constantly creating.
