Spiritual Practices – On Assignment

Last week I meet with a few ladies at Beacon Hill (a senior residence) for my monthly Faith Talk.  One of the women mentioned that she is working on her spiritual life.  As a Gen Xer, it was comforting to hear that a member of the Greatest Generation is still trying to figure it out.

As our lives change, so does our relationship with God.  While God does not change, our needs and who we are, does.  This insightful woman asked me what my spiritual life is like.  As an active mother, I seemed to have more excuses than constant practices.

I’m sure many others are facing the same thing.  Our days fill quickly.  We have little time to ourselves, schedules change, and needs change.  Before we know it a week may pass before we have really stopped to pray, or read the Bible, or a multitude of other traditional spiritual practices.

In an effort to feed my spirit, I’m going to start making a determined effort to find ways to purposely included God in my life – in the midst of the chaos!  So, stay tuned for this process, and perhaps you may find a way to enhance your spiritual life!

God, I need to find a better way to be filled by the Spirit.  Help me find what works for me, feeds me, and leads me to be more open to you.

About SFriant

I live to walk with others on their journeys - because everyone needs to know that they are loved, that they matter, and that they are doing amazing things. I'm a lot like our two kids: obsessed with learning, and constantly creating.
